Learn from the Trees

If you look at a tree, it’s always in balance when it’s connecting to the earth, communicating to the other trees, maintaining a strong flexible body, taking in the nutrients and water it needs, reaching out to support the environment around it, from the birds and squirrels to the humans that rest back upon it. But it  also allows itself to be supported by the environment that comes back to feed it, the winds that help it become strong and flexible with every storm that passes, the sun that provides the necessary burst of energy to continue on.

Stay Strong

Many moments through the day we find ourselves meet with different challenges. When we look at the trees, the ones that stand for decades/centuries, they have roots that go far and wide into the earth. They are looking to find their stability, their strength.

  • We can find our strength through connection with friends, family, passersby.

  • We can find our strength through daily movement.

  • We can find our strength through nourishment.

Stay Flexible

Throughout our days we have to flex with the energy around us, whether that’s a busy classroom, traffic, deadlines, etc. When we guide our moments with flexibility we are able to move with the wind, bend with the winds so we don’t break.

  • Leaning into daily breath work helps your body expand instead of break.

  • Hydration helps our connective tissues stay more pliable and resilient.

  • Movement helps our joints lubricated and flexible.

Stay Balanced

The importance of maintaining balance within our lives is the anti-aging key, the fountain of youth everyone is looking for. Balance is putting work down and picking play up. Go for the walk, sit and watch tv or read a book, listen to music and dance in your kitchen, sing in your car aloud while stuck in traffic…do what brings joy to you and allows you to let go of the day to day. Balance is creating healthy balance within your life through food and movement. Don’t look at it as an all or nothing, find joy in the moment to moment not the whole day at a time.

  • Sit with who you are and be at peace with you today. What you did yesterday doesn’t matter and tomorrow doesn’t exist…today is who you are.
